The unit’s mission is to provide a patient-focused, friendly, qualified, reliable service, free of medical faults. In all clinical surgery practices, including mainly minimal invasive (Laparoscopic – bloodless surgery) and emergency surgery, becoming a center of attraction in Istanbul has been adopted as the goal of the unit.
At regular training meetings held every week, operations that have been or are to be conducted are evaluated. At these meetings, guidelines are also created in cooperation with the relevant units in order to achieve consensus in clinical practices. Conferences and panels are organized, involving in-group and guest lecturers, and consequently, an exchange of information takes place between colleagues from different groups. On a periodic basis, meetings are held with industrial companies of the sector to introduce new products, and platforms are created where actual issues are discussed.
Thanks to the depth of specialty in different areas of interest, pioneer applications are undertaken in minimal invasive surgery in particular, in emergency surgery and endocrine (breast, thyroid gland and adrenal cortex) surgery as well as in gastrointestinal tract (digestive system) surgery and hepatopancreaticobiliary (liver, pancreas and biliary tract) surgery.
